My name is Laura and I’m 46 years old. I’m married to Joey (age 51) and we have 3 grown children, 2 grandchildren, 2 dogs and
10 9 chickens. And even though we have been parents for most of our lives and we finally have an “empty nest”, something is missing. Something deep in our hearts is missing. God has a different plan for us than we anticipated we would have at this stage of life…a plan for us to continue to grow our family through adoption. While friends of ours are breathing a sigh of relief after getting through the child rearing stage and now they’re looking ahead to their retirement years as their next big goal, we are starting over. But you know, I can’t believe the peace, and excitement, and joy that fills my heart at each step of this very long process.
This is a blog account of our adoption journey & I’m so glad to have the opportunity to share our experience with you. I hope you’ll stop by often as I share our adoption progress and also share news and events concerning orphans around the world.
Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.
